What is groo comic?

Groo is a comic book series created by Sergio Aragonés, featuring the titular character of Groo. Groo is a wandering barbarian who gets into various misadventures throughout his travels. He is joined by a cast of recurring characters, including his trusty dog Rufferto, the sage Evanier, who serves as Groo's guide, and the warrior Chakaal, who becomes Groo's occasional love interest.

Groo first appeared in a comic book published by Pacific Comics in 1982. The series was later picked up by Eclipse Comics and then by Dark Horse Comics, where it continued until 2018. Groo was known for its humor, satire, and irreverence, as well as the detailed artwork of Aragonés.

Over the years, Groo has appeared in a number of spin-off series, including Groo vs. Conan, where he crosses paths with another iconic barbarian, and The Groo Chronicles, a series that explores the character's origin story. The Groo series has won numerous awards over the years, including the National Cartoonists Society Award for Best Comic Book in 1993.
